Tooth Extraction Pain Relief

How many of you have been perscribed something for the pain when you had your wisdom teeth removed? I thought that was the norm that the dentist should give you something, but mine gives me nothing, and I suspect it is because I was breastfeeding and he did not know what to give me. Anyway, it hurts and I needed something, and he said he would be supported by aspirin which it is not. Anyway, has this happened to someone, or did you all get some | perscription?
