Tongue Swollen From Canker Sore

I have a huge painful canker sore on the side of my tongue and I've tried everything I can think to prevent harm. Ive tried ulcers orders numbness. Rinse mouth. salt water! Does anyone have other ideas to ease the pain? and that side of my tongue is swollen! have any ideas why? or ways to reduce the swelling?
