Temporary DenturesThe four different types of prostheses explained

Do you need new dentures? Do you know anything about dentures or what are your options? This can be confusing for many people and understandably so. After all, most people do new dentures once or twice during their lifetime, if it's not like they do this every day. In addition, medical research has developed new dental treatments and options everyday. Some of these new treatments, including implants, are available only since the early 1990s.

There are four types of prostheses available to you. Some will obviously be more expensive than others. This is what will give you a brief overview of what is available.

Standard Denture

The standard prosthesis is designed for people who have already lost all their teeth origin. TRhese types of prostheses have been used for decades, although there have been some changes to help them adapt better and more comfortable to wear. These standard dentures can be sized by removing some of the rear portion of the prosthesis. The only drawback to this is that the more that is removed, unless a seal, you'll have in your mouth to keep them in place.

Immediate dentures

Immediate dentures are not exactly what you think. They are in fact temporary prosthesis that patients are fitted immediately after teeth extracted. The term "immediate" gives some people feel that they are dentures made for them the same day, as if they were passing by a reader of prosthesis to the window, but this is not the case .

Cu-Sil dentures

Cu-Sil dentures are not a very good solution for people who have many stable individual, natural teeth. There are currently many problems with this type of prosthesis because of the difficulty of alignment and stability. In many cases, the Cu-Sil dentures will not be effective for some who have no teeth at all to help stabilize the new prosthesis. Ask your dentist about dentures Cu-Sil and if they are a viable option for you.

Dental Implants

The implants are by far the most expensive option available prosthesis. The cost of a full set of implants can compete with a down payment on a house in middle class. The reason is that they are the most effective prosthesis far. Messages are inserted into the jaw and allowed people to heal up. After that your denture can be switched to more stability. Many people with implants said it's almost like having real teeth again because they can eat almost normally.

As I said before, this is a brief overview of the types of prostheses available to you. You should contact a dentist and ask any additional questions you may have.
