Most private hospitals now have occupancy rates of only about 30 percent as more Thais covered by the government plan to choose a treatment under the plan BT30.
Private health care in the West is extremely expensive and, for some, prohibitively expensive. Even less taxing medical fields such as dentistry and orthodontics are highly price, while surgery and major operations will eventually get into debt.
Given the costs and issues, many people have shown the tendency to seek health care relatively cheaply abroad and escape the darling of the costs they face at home. Many of them have reached Thailand and obtained the solutions they seek, triggering an influx of energy found in "medical tourism" in the country.
