Stained Teeth

I have 3 teeth on the bottom center who always had a yellow circle. Now, I do not know if it is colored on the outside or inside. I think it is inside the tooth. If it's inside, that means it is permanent and can not be removed unless i take the teeth? If this is not what I can do? if they are stained from the outside, I can remove it, then right?
