Shingles Medical Treatment

It seems logical that when my wife has a medical problem, doctors (this happened several) tend to downplay and not give her medication (shingles is a sample) or a shift towards a expert (numbness in the legs and shooting back pain.)
But when I see the doctor with the same symptoms I get sympathy, medication and further referrals to specialists.
Many women we know have expressed the same complaint.
What to do?

Presented to my doctor several times and was ignored complaints. So I went to another and was ignored again. Then I went to the other. Ignored again. When my condition was so bad that it was visible to any passerby on the street, someone finally paid attention and a diagnosis of my condition, which proved to be chronic and severe. Another time I went to the doctor after the surgery and told him I felt very sick. He ignored me. At the end of the day, I was so bad that I went to the emergency room and was admitted to the hospital for three days. When I was in the hospital, I noticed that I was treated much better and more respect when my husband was in the room. If he was not there, they said things like: "Why can not you just be quiet and understand that this is the way it is." I finally make a complaint and the hospital gave me a five dollar gift certificate to the gift shop. I hate doctors. And you know what is illogical is that I get treated badly by doctors young and old, so whatever training they receive has not improved over the years, apparently. Sure, now they know I really a health issue, so they treat them better than I ' have health insurance and I'm worth the money for them. Bastards.

I was crying about panic, anxiety and sleep disorders for years and years. My doctor is not listening. I have yet to have a doctor try to give me something to help me sleep, which is stupid because I could try to buy it in the street and not know the appropriate amounts and could kill me because I usually listen to doctors. what really makes me mad is my stepfather is a doctor! it wont listen either!

I, personally, do not have this problem. Every physician knows that I see I'm not one to play with my health. What your wife needs to do is the following:
When she goes to an appointment, be ready. Meaning, if she thinks she has shingles (just an example), have brought a paper printout of a web address and reliable treatment options.
Make sure it is to transmit its DR she takes her health very seriously and ** NOT ** to settle for 2nd best.
If all else fails, ask your insurance provider. If it becomes a problem, they can give you the names of other suppliers to cover. Good luck to him!
