You should collect what you love and enjoy. This is your dream. Design it as you want.
Never-lowest. . . decide on the foreign currency or coins of the United States, and the proof or mint state. If U.S., then decide the value: penny, nickel, dime, quarter, half dollar, dollar or other.
Or, can decide on a particular period of history, for example: Morgan Dollars (Lady Liberty, Following the Civil War), Peace Dollars (Following WWI), Wartime Cents (Steel socket and - WWII) Wartime Nickels (Silver - WWII), head of silver Dimes Pre 1965; State Quarters, 20th century, 19th century.
Or choose a historical figure, Kennedy half Dollars (Following his death), Lincoln Cents, and Washington quarters; Franklin Half dollars, Eisenhower dollars, Susan B Anthony dollar, Roosevelt dime, Sacagawea dollars. You can also choose sets of type, games of the year, currency, proof sets and decades.
The next step is to decide on the quality of the piece you want to retrieve. Your choices are: a pocket change) b rolls, banks), c) U.S. mint and proof rolls and sets (new and used) d) Purchase of coin shows and clubs, e) Shopping on the Internet; f) Purchase of coin dealer g) Buy the magazine coin or ads. The only thing that is important in all the above choices is the note of the piece, which is closely linked to the value (a topic for another article). Most collections will span a wider range of years, that is pocket change or bank rolls can possibly produce. It is therefore imperative to investigate other resources.
Your budget is usually to determine the quality of play that you can afford to collect. Ms63-MS65 is an ideal range for the collection, not only because of the excellent condition and details of coins, greater availability, lower costs, and because the pieces of this range tend to appreciate more faster than other grades. Point is very simple, and it has to do with the quality of the play or how much you want to spend per room - for an average.
