Gum Replacement SurgeryPosted on February 1, 2010. Is this a sufficient dental bridge to replace a front tooth? I had a tooth taken at slightly less than 1 year after the adult tooth never grew down and have worn a prosthesis since (third from the front of the mouth). As I am only 26 and I'm looking for something more permanent and think of having a dental bridge. My only other option is to have oral surgery to extract my tooth adult chewing it and then the implant but I think it is too invasive. Is this a bridge Enough? Have you taken this bridge is? They essentially cut half of the tooth on each side of the absentee has been known to cause irreparable damage to healthy teeth. I know that implants are more costly and time consuming, but at least it wont affect other of your teeth. Its a tough decision that ultimately you can do but talk to your dentist as much detail as possible about any concerns or questions you have confidence in them and recommend what they feel is best for you.
