Dry Mouth Toothpaste

Posted on March 29, 2010.
Dry Mouth ToothpasteDo you spit out the toothpaste and dry mouth or do you have rinse with water?

I have seen in many movies that most people after brushing teeth and spitting the toothpaste from drying their lips with a napkin. Normally, we spit and rinse mouth with water to remove particles remaining dough. Is there a more healthy (?) The effect of the remaining pastry / fluoride on the teeth, is it to keep the freshness of menthol in the mouth for a while, or is it to save water what??

No offense, but eww ... All my life I have always brushed and rinsed completely. Now I can use dental floss and mouthwash too.
The film is likely to make it fast.
What is the point of leaving it in your mouth? It's just another way of saying to digest the toothpaste, which is totally out of question for me.
After all: Did you rinse with water!

Hi hunny,
One of the good years ago our dentist at the time told us not to go out after brushing, it said its polishing and washing as Polish off again since then, we just brushed and dried. We found our breath fresher longer and we have not had any work done painful it might be good advice

good luck hunny xxxx

I always rinse with water. After scrubbing my teeth, you do not think it's a good idea to swish and expel all the crud I have my teeth? I do.

This is a movie. This is not real life.

Always rinse after brushing. Some toothpastes can actually eat the enamel of the teeth marks left on their cases.

When I brush my teeth, I brush, then rinse the mouth with water and wipe my lips. I do not think it matters which way you do. It is probably just a personal habit.

Any effect of toothpaste on the remaining teeth are lost when you've eaten something. Your saliva would eventually erase the residue as well. Toothpaste can be irritating to the stomach of some people, and consuming too much fluouride (active ingredient) can actually discolor the teeth of young children.
Brushing your teeth before bed to provide more lasting benefits of a coating of fluorine is because you would not eat anything for eight hours. It would also reduce the amount of bacteria in the mouth and reduce the incidence of morning breath.

Brush my teeth with toothpaste, mouth wash and spit out the paste, then use mouthwash, then floss, chewing sugarless gum, then.

I do it all, spit, rinse and dry.

I rinse and spit, otherwise you can end up with white stuff around the mouth and I want to wash the stuff that comes out of your teeth in my mouth.

I rinse with water, there is sugar in the fluoride that isn't good to keep in your mouth, especially on the teeth.

I think the underdog in the movies. You would end up swallowing the toothpaste if you didn't wash your mouth. His ill health.

Rinse.

FINALLY !....... Ive always wondered too !...... I spit and rinse ... ive always wondered coz I thought it was serious when toothpaste is left in the mouth ..

Both - Spit and rinse.

It is useless to keep him in the mouth. Your breath is not going to stay fresh longer. The small amount of fluoride is not going to make any impact one way or the other.

I dry my mouth and then spit .. then use mouthwash!

I usually go straight to the dental floss and then rinse mouth. I do not rinse after the mouthwash ... but I have no medical reasons for it.
