Dentist MouthwashWhy does my dentist say I use mouthwash containing alcohol souldn't?

My dentist told me I should not use alcohol mouthwash Listerine as a base or reach due, but I do not know why. He said that I should use as a plaque or other mouthwash which has fluoride in it. But what I really want to know is why can Scope or Listerine not be good for me or my teeth?

The best person to ask this question would be your dentist.

Alcohol dries the mouth and can cause gum problems.

brushing, flossing and rinsing with salt water or plain are also beneficial, but if you feel you need to use non-alcoholic variety.
