Dental Hygienist SalaryNashville TN Dental Hygienist Salary?

I am interested in being a dental hygienist. I love the field of measuring, and understanding there is some thing that I really do (like talk to you doc and benefits). I want to know what the salary is Nash TN. I'm not looking to enter the career in terms of salary (it is based on what I love to run ...) but the salary is a part of the job and want to live comfortably.

According to the U.S. Department of Labor, dental hygienists make between $ 22 and $ 38 an hour.

It is from AmyRDH.com:

TENNESSEE:

I live in Tennessee near Chattanooga and I work in a big 3 DDS practice with 9 other women. "I get a base rate plus 25% of 130/daily everything I produce more 400./day. That makes my average about 25-26/hr. I also get paid holidays, uniforms provided with laundry service, 1 weeks paid holiday and free dental care costs for myself and my immediate family or the laboratory where appropriate, parents and siblings get Dental Discount, health insurance is available if I needed it. (1999)

I have to add in Memphis, TN. In 7 / 99, the salary ranges of $ 20 to $ 25 an hour.
An HDR experienced could probably expect to make $ 23 on site. If the Commission concerned, compensation is generally higher. It is difficult to determine if it varies greatly if you have experience or not.
Some dentists prefer an HDR graduating so they can train them as they want w / o the baggage of bad habits ... and others prefer a HDR w / experience for their speed and production. The benefits vary along w / salary ... Again, it just all depends on the DDS. (1999)

I practiced for 21 years and love DH! I have a full-time HYG. HYG assistant and a part-time. help. the appointment. They both have a degree bigger picture. I am salary plus commission. Last year, I made about $ 75,000, $ 15,000 was put in my retirement by the DDS, and 2 weeks paid vacation. Not included in this amount was the Commission I pay my assistants ... approx. $ 5,000 per year. I live in Jackson, Tennessee. I send you this info. more hygienists questioned the pay they deserve! I live in Knoxville, TN and (b) salary of $ 200 -225/day w / benefits. (Exp) 225 W + / benefits is the norm here. (1 / 03)

This is not a direct answer, but give you some info to start:

The median hourly earnings of dental hygienists were $ 26.59 in 2002. The middle 50 percent earned between $ 21.96 and $ 32.48 an hour. The lowest 10 percent earned less than $ 17.34, and 10 percent earned more than $ 39.24 an hour.

Earnings vary by geographic location, job creation, and years of experience. Dental hygienists may be paid on an hourly basis, daily, salary, or commission basis

About $ 19,000 to start.
