Cosmetic Dental Treatment

Cosmetic Dental TreatmentCosmetic dental and very pregnant?

Hello, I'd be very grateful for some advice. I was raised without adult teeth in two areas - the baby teeth fell and I miss the first molar on each side. My new dentist suggested I could put in bridges (free on NHS'm 34 weeks pregnant) and suggested to get one fitted now and in 6 months. This seemed an excellent idea that would be free and shortcomings bother me.
However, if the first bridge equipped 2 days ago. I am a nurse and know the dangers of treatment during pregnancy, but my dentist (who seems quite competent) assured me that everything would be OK. If the preparatory work fine inc local anesthesia, but now that I have the permanent bridge that I am in constant pain. It is not too tight nad I'm taking good care of oral hygiene again. He has constant pain and I know that is very new and should subside. It is really stress myself and I, am not sleeping at night (this detachment in the middle of the night!). I am angry with my dentist to suggest cosmetic treatment when heavily impregnation and need advice.
In addition, the bridge is a ceramic / metal so I have a gray line on my gum line. It's ok as I have said it is a molar, but I am worried about what type of metal was used and effects on health. In addition, as I said I could not sleep since the bridge was installed, it is not ill enough to keep me awake. i normally sleep very well even in pregnacy end (I have other children) and I still wake up. Could I have a strange reaction to chemicals / metal in the bridge that keeps me awake? Sounds crazy I know!

I'm going back to my dentist if the sensitivity continues, the bite seems ok and I do not think that is the problem .. I'm worried that he has a infecton and I need all the root canal treatment when heavily pregnant. This is my last baby, and I am stressing aobu even higher than I'm not enjoying the last weeks of pregnancy at all and really appreciate your help.

I would also say that I have no other dental problems, have good teeth, the work was purely aesthetic of congenital absence of permanent molars.

Thank you very much

I am a dental assistant and it seems that (but I can not say with certainty) that the bridge can not be properly installed. A new bridge should not cause that much pain. Your teeth may also be temporarily sensitive and it will pass. You must have your dentist take a look and he or she wants to take a radiograph. In addition, it is safe to have dental treatment in late pregnancy. I am 7 months pregnant and have had dental care. Just not too much laughing gas and X-rays.
