MarketplaceBreath StripsPosted on January 30, 2010. Why breath strips dissolve on the tongue, but not in the toothpaste? I just used a bottle of Colgate Max little gel / liquid whitening toothpaste with breath strips and started to wonder .... why these bands dissolve in the mouth, but not in the gel / liquid bottle of toothpaste? just like how a cap would not dissolve in a glass of water, the strips dissolve in the habit of breathing toothpaste. they dissolve in the mouth because ur enzymes in saliva heart and the construction of acids. thats also how capsules dissolve in the stomach, heart ... stomach acid enzymes in the mouth and are soluble in water and effectively because there is water in your toothpaste if you've left in there for a while, and returned should dissolveve It is without doubt the warmth of your mouth, or enzymes in saliva to dissolve them.
