Burning mouth as the roof of the mouth burn with hot coffee, too? burning sensation on the tongue. Sentenced to 2 biopsy of the language before, misdiagnosed as neuroma but later 2nd opinion pappilitis inflamed. (Not cancerous) Docs can not find the cause of burning mouth. Begun with a small area on the roof of the mouth spreading to a wider area and also the language. Roof of the mouth feels dry, is now trying to rinse the mouth and Biotene gel. Docs precribed Amytriplin 25 mg, but only took half and the side effects, very sleepy. Anyone can help, this problem started last year. A lady very anxious midlle age.
This condition is actually a name, appropriately enough: the burning mouth syndrome or scalded mouth syndrome. Unfortunately, it can have several causes, so I'd say a thorough review.
Sometimes a white film is usually suggestive of thrush (yeast infection or candidiasis), or another condition called oral hairy leukoplakia, which usually appears in patches, but may also have a film on the oral mucosa. Burns of the mouth can be caused by two conditions.

I am a qualified dental nurse. The only thing I can think of is that you have an allergy to something you use, or something that was recently installed in your mouth. The most common causes of this type of reaction I've seen, are reactions to acrylic dentures or the adhesive used to fix them.
